Proud to Sponsor Teacher Appreciation Week at Winding Waters K-8
A veteran-owned HVAC company, a Weeki Wachee school, and a simple message – thank you for everything you do.
Teachers do not clock out when the last bus leaves Winding Waters K-8. They grade at the kitchen table, buy classroom supplies out of pocket, and still show up the next morning ready for Pre-K through eighth grade. That is why Florida Coast Cooling sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week at Winding Waters K-8 in Weeki Wachee – home of the Yellow Jackets – and why we wanted to put that sponsorship on the record. We live and work in the same counties these educators serve. When Hernando County classrooms stay strong, the neighborhoods around Vespa Way, Brooksville, Spring Hill, and Weeki Wachee stay strong with them.
A Local Sponsor at a Local School
Winding Waters K-8 sits at 12240 Vespa Way in Weeki Wachee and serves more than 1,500 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The school’s own mission talks about teachers and community leaders working together. That is the part we can help with.
Our team joined school administration, the PTO, and other local sponsors for a Teacher Appreciation celebration on campus. The room had the kind of energy you want in a school with handmade “Wanted: Sponsors” signs, a games station, and a table full of thank-you gifts.
We showed up as neighbors.
What We Brought for Winding Waters Teachers

Every gift cup carried the same line: “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you for everything you do.”
Florida Coast Cooling packed branded cups with treats, blue crinkle, and a thank-you tag on a wooden stick, so each teacher had something they could actually take home. The cups and table banner carried our Brooksville-and-beyond service message – Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, and surrounding counties – along with our license number and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned mark. We also brought information on indoor air quality and a chance for staff to stay connected with the team after the event. But, the point was not the cup. The point was a visible, in-person thank you for a job that rarely gets one when the calendar is full.
Why an HVAC Company Sponsors Teacher Appreciation Week
Florida heat does not respect planning periods.
By late spring and through summer, classroom portables, older campus equipment, and the houses teachers go home to are all running almost around the clock. A veteran-owned, family-run shop sees that up close. Our technicians live in these zip codes. Our Brooksville location exists specifically so Hernando County homes – including Weeki Wachee, Spring Hill, Brooksville, Timber Pines, and Hernando Beach – get the same same-day response we built in Homosassa.
Sponsoring Teacher Appreciation Week is consistent with work we have already done for educators, including teacher HVAC offers, community giveaways that have included teachers, and military family support through our Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business. Comfort is not a luxury in Florida. For someone who spent the day on their feet with 20-plus students, it is recovery.
Comfort After the Last Bell
If you teach at Winding Waters or anywhere in Hernando or Citrus County, here is the practical side of this post.
After a long day, the house should be cool when you walk in. If it is not, you should not have to diagnose it yourself. Florida Coast Cooling handles:
- Same-Day and After-Hours AC Repair
- System Replacements and High-Efficiency Upgrades as a Trane Comfort Specialist
- Tune-Ups Before the Next Heat Wave
- Ductwork and Indoor Air Quality When the System Is Running but the Air Still Feels Stale
Teachers and school staff can start with our teacher HVAC discount page and current HVAC deals. Mention that you are an educator when you call. Have a badge or recent pay stub ready if a promo requires verification.
Call (352) 699-2665. That is the same number on the cups: 699-COOL.
Proudly Local to Weeki Wachee and Hernando County

Florida Coast Cooling is based at 6431 S. Suncoast Blvd. in Homosassa, with a second facility in Brooksville. We are licensed (CAC1821105), NATE-certified, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned. We service all major HVAC brands and install Trane systems built for Florida humidity, salt air, and long cooling seasons.
Our Hernando County HVAC service covers the communities around Winding Waters, including Weeki Wachee, Brooksville, Spring Hill, and the neighborhoods families use to get to campus each morning.
If you are a parent who saw our table at the school, the same team that packed those thank-you cups is the team that will stand in your driveway when the air handler quits on a Saturday.
Thank You, Yellow Jackets
To Principal Tormey, the Winding Waters administration, the PTO, and every teacher and staff member who kept the swarm together this year – we say, thank you. Five houses, one swarm, one family is not just a slogan when the adults in the building treat it that way.
Florida Coast Cooling was glad to be one of the local businesses that showed up.
